Dr. Daniel Käsmayr studied chemistry at the Technical University in Munich. He received his PhD from TU Munich in polymer chemistry, before he joined BASF in 2007. After five years in research and five years as a technology scout he transferred to corporate Innovation Management, with his “baby project”, the ideation platform. In his current role he is running and developing the internal ideation platform, but also building better infrastructure for BASF’s fuzzy front end: from enabling scouts to Open Innovation initiatives and changing the innovation culture.
